What to tell us when you call
The more you can tell us up front, the more accurate the price is before anyone leaves the yard. If you can, have these ready:
- What the door is doing now — stuck open, stuck closed, opening part way, noisy, reversing, or off its track.
- Whether the opener runs but the door does not move. That usually points at a spring or a cable rather than the opener.
- Roughly how old the door is, and whether it is single or double width.
- Whether you can see a broken spring above the door, or a cable hanging loose beside it.
- Your address, so we can tell you honestly how soon we can be there.
If your door is stuck right now
Stop using the button. A door that stops part way is usually a spring, a cable or an obstruction in the track, and running the opener against it turns a repair into a replacement. If the door is stuck open and you need to secure the garage, call us and say so — we will tell you what is safe to do while you wait.
Do not try to release a torsion spring yourself. Those springs hold enough energy to cause serious injury, and they are the one part of a garage door that is genuinely dangerous to an untrained person.
